Training Day at Pacific Coliseum

Today was a short day of work - it was my venue training at Pacific Coliseum...we spent 4 hours going over procedures and tourning the facility so that we could see where we would meet and notify our athlete, follow them through the "mixed zone" which is basically a hallway of media, take them to the media centre for a press conference if applicable and the doping contol centres...we also met our fellow chaperones and bosses...here are some pics of our group of chaperones in the media centre and also of the ice at the Coliseum...with the 2010 logo.

Tomorrow is an off day for all of us, so I expect we'll head downtown or maybe to Stanley Park as I believe that it is supposed to be plus 8 and sunny!!!!  Below are some pics that I took of the downtown the other day - the first three are the lanterns that the first nations have put up, two of them are cutouts of some of the sports, and one is Robson Square where they have an outdoor rink which is free to skate on and where live music plays in the late afternoon and early evening...
