Arrived in Vancouver around 10:00 a.m. yesterday and hung out at my friends' Jan and Ron's place until 5:00 when we headed back to the airport to pick up Courtney...then we headed to our new home away from home for the next month where we quickly settled in. Our "landlords" left us a nice little gift basket with some goodies in...and some Sens stuff too!!!! (I guess we'll almost forgive them for being Leaf fans!!!)Thanks to Jan & Ron for acting as my personal chauffeur for the day!!!!
Today Courtney and I headed to the Pacific Coliseum to pick up our accreditation and uniforms...the skytrain is like a block from the house which is going to make getting around pretty sweet...and with our accreditation, we can ride for free!!!! Picking up the uniforms went incredibly smooth - everyone was soooo helpful and friendly...and I think the unis look great...what do you think???
After we picked up our stuff, we headed back home to drop it off...then went back downtown to walk around...did I mention that it was like plus 12 and sunny...I thought it was positively balmy, but Courtney thought it was a little cool...we got to know the transit system, and walked around watching all the Olympic preparations...
When we got back to the house we watched the Sens beat Vancouver - I love that we can watch the hockey game and still have the whole evening left to do something else...which tonight will probably just be hanging out watching a movie cause we're a little pooped after being out in the fresh air all day!
A couple more days of just hanging about, then Sunday I have my first shift...heading over to the Olympic Village for 6:00 a.m....
